Several weeks ago in Pennsylvania, Meriem Khouy from Morroco was announced as the winner of the people’s choice award at Miss Arab US 2015!
Meriem received the award recently during a crowning ceremony after gaining the most votes, winning over 18 other eligible women.
The Annual Miss Arab Pageant is founded on the basis of advancing various causes for young ladies of Arab descent and is in celebration of the Arab cultural heritage in the USA.
Meriem says she is very proud to be Arab and proud of her culture and background and after winning the award she says she is now keener on… “…educating others to have a better understanding of our Arab community and changing any wrong perceptions that they might have.”
Meriem says her parents have been the most influential people in her life, always advising her to constantly learn, educate, and inspire.
Now, she is ready to take that advice to the extreme with her goal of helping her community’s needs.
“I will dedicate myself into helping those suffering kids in the Arab World and here in the USA. I may not be able to change the world, but I’m confident that I can change someone else’s world.”
